1269 Café Ministries announces the inaugural hiring of an Executive Director
The ministry, also known as The Twelve or 1269 Cafe, is located at the former St. Casimir School on Union Street. 1269 serves the homeless and poor in the city by providing a comprehensive array of services from practical needs to a structured residential model, with the goal of restoring people to independent living.
This newly created position is made possible by an award from The Community Development Finance Authority and will build capacity for the ministry to “deepen its response” to the needs of Manchester’s unhoused. The Executive Director is slated to implement a 2-year strategic goal plan which includes the streamlining of the current staffing cadence, dictate transitional housing goals and standards, and enhance the scope and reach of both fundraising and volunteer efforts.
With over twenty years of social work experience, Manchester native Jasmine L. Harris has been hired to fill this role. Jasmine earned her bachelor’s degree from UNH-Manchester, is an experienced community collaborator and devised a health insurance enrollment clinic at a previous day shelter for Manchester’s homeless at the advent of the Affordable Care Act. Other professional experience includes Community Action Agency work under grants by the USDA, DHHS and DOL.
Upcoming hiring needs for 1269 Café include a Resident Success Manager and multiple overnight seasonal staff to assist the organization’s overnight winter warming station efforts beginning in December of this year.
